Am I the strange one?

My friends all teach their children to call adults by their first names, without a "miss" or "mister" in front of it. I was raised to call anyone significantly older than me "miss janet... mr. morris" etc. Am I being a prude for thinking it's ridiculous that a 2 year old is calling me by my first name alone?
