How has photography changed since the advent of digital technology?

The meaning of the images have not changed a great deal, what has changed is peoples' response to those images. It was always thought that the camera could not lie,people are becoming more aware that it can and always could in the hands of a skillful image maker. Access to the equipment to make, manipulate and transmit images has changed enormously in the past few years and people are becoming more aware,visually. I would hope that your question will be the start of more debate as photographers become more arcticulate about their craft and that the ease of modern image making increases it's influence.
