Everyone knows the phrase "elements of the crime", but does the word apply equally to other situations? For example, if you have to allege two different things to allege a court has jurisdiction over a case, such as allege the offense happened in that jurisdiction and allege the plaintiff or defendant resides in that jurisdiction. Are those two required allegations then known as "elements of jurisdiction" or what? And is "elements" used like that generally for all such arguments?
