Should my sister take a year off from college?

My sister is in her senior year and is planning on being a professional horseback rider. My parents are trying to talk her into going to college right off but she says she doesnt feel ready and she wants do get a job for a year and do a big community service project so she wouldnt be jus sittin around all day getting mucho off our parents who think if she takes a year off she wont wanna go to college in a year. Should she go to college now? or get a taste of what the real world is like and take a year off and get a job and do a big community service project? please help! Thank you so much! =]
