Birth control?

I have a friend who has been taking birth control for approximetly 7-8 months and recently went off of it, and she has had all her expected periods at the right time she was supposed to, but now that she discontinued it she is abut 1 week late! and doesnt feel any signs of getting it any time soon.. should she be worried?
